History
Arvid and Barbara Blix (360) 849-4302 are being contacted as to the possibility of more information (9-17 -97). The boat was built as a stern picker (gill-netter) but was sold to Dale Anderson (Olympic Hardwood mill) before this was done, as a good will boat. Looks about the 1950's time period at this point. Capt. George Knight operated this boat for the owners, during a period of time. His son Mike has furnished us a painting of the boat, painted by their friend J.E. House and has provided us some pictures as well. Mike also informed me, the original engine was an International Palmer, 6 cylinder, gas motor, keel cooled. Mike removed the engine and installed it in the Alaska Lady which is in a slough behind the Dennis co. concrete plant 9-17-97. A Chrysler V8 (318 ?) replaced the old engine. Jay Givens has a picture on his wall, showing a boatload of fish from an outing. Jay maintained the boat. Dale W. Anderson (owner of Olympic Hardwood) was contacted 9/18/97, even though he could not remember much, said he would think about it. 1630 Chilton Road Aberdeen, W A 98520 (360) 532-2200 Arvid Blix was contacted 9/19/97 he said that he thought this boat was the first of the Harmony Three built and would contact his dad and try to get us all the information he can. 257 N. Welcome Slough Road, Cathlamet, W A 98612 The current engine was purchased from Rich Home, of Bay Center, WA where it was stored behind the Blue Heron under a bunch of beer cans.
